(SFX: Applause)

S.L. (nervous): W-wh-who are all these people?

B: Well, from now on, we're doing "The Story Lady" with a live audience, Story Lady.

S.L.: B-but I've never been in front of a live audience in my life!

B: Just relax, Story Lady, they all love you.

S.L. (Clearing her throat, still nervous): Hello, hello, boys and girls, tod-today we're going to hear the s-story I call "th-th-The Enchanted Canary..."

(SFX: Applause)

S.L. (whispering): Byron, I just can't go on...

B: Oh, nonsense, Story Lady, listen to that applause. They love you!

(SFX: Applause)

S.L.: They do?...They DO, don't they?...Today we're going to hear the story of The Enchanted Canary, but first I'd like to do my impression of Georgie Jessel! (Imitating Jessel singing) "One bright and shining light..."

B: Story Lady...Story Lady...

(SFX: Applause and music box fade in)

B: Thank you, Story Lady. Be listening next time, boys and girls, when The Story Lady will try to sneak in a dirty word before the engineer can cut her off the air.
