Byron the Elf: And now it's time for another visit with

S.L.: Today's story is one I call, "The Fisherman and His Wife."

(SFX: Music Box)

S.L.: Once upon a time there was a very poor, hungry fisherman and his discontented wife. One day, the fisherman caught a great big fish, and to his surprise, the fish spoke to him!

It said, "I am a prince under an evil spell, please toss me back!" The fisherman was so surprised, that he threw the fish prince back into the sea.

That night, he told his wife what had happened, and she said, "Why, you stupid klutz! Why didn't you ask him to grant you a wish?" So the very next day he went back and found the fish prince and wished for enough food to last a lifetime. The fish prince said, "Granted!" and jumped back into the sea.

The hungry fisherman then ran all the way home, and lo and behold, when he got there, he found his whole house filled with seaweed and worms.

B: Thank you, Story Lady. Be sure and tune in next time, boys and girls, when The Story Lady will tell you the story of the girl who thought she could, and found out she was right.
