Byron the Elf:...Now it's time again for another visit with

S.L.: Hello, children. Today we're going to hear the story I call, "The Enchanted Snail."

(SFX: Music box)

Once upon a time, a wise king sent his son the prince out into the kingdom to seek a bride. After many weeks, tired from his search, the price was seated in the woods, when he heard a voice say, "I can help you!"

He looked around, and to his amazement, the voice was coming from a tiny snail. "I am an enchanted sanil," he explained. "Then tell me," said the prince, "where can I find the most beautiful and wonderful princess in the world?"

The snail smiled, as if nothing could be simpler, and said, "Come with me, for I will take you to a place where you will find the fairest of the fair, the loveliest of the lovely, and the purest of the pure."

And soon they came to a clearing in the woods. And the prince looked around and said, "This is indeed a beautiful place. But where am I to find my beautiful princess, o enchanted snail? For you promised me the fairest of the fair."

And the snail pointed and said, "Just look under that rock."

B: Thank you, Story Lady. Be with us next time, boys and girls, when The Story Lady tells us the tender story of "The Ogre and the Roller Derby Queen."
