Clinton and Gore: Suffering from Callsheimer's?
Stan Freberg here. Did Bill Clinton make fundraising calls from
the White House? If he did, of course, they were illegal. But when
asked recently he said, "Ummm, I don't remember." He doesn't,
huh? More on that, after this. [:60 SPOT BREAK]
The Republicans, yelling about a special prosecutor to investigate
the illegal fundraising phone calls made by the President and Vice President
from federal property, put enough pressure on Janet Reno that she
finally said, "Okay, okay, but I want thirty days to think
about it."
Al Gore admitted maybe he made a "few" calls; when checked, it
turned out to be 46 fundraising calls. Hmm. The President,
however, when asked, said "I don't remember making any calls."
Hmm.
In my opinion, he may be suffering from a new disease:
"Callsheimer's"--a loss of memory of all phone calls. Clinton and
Gore may both be victims of Callsheimer's.
Give these guys a break, folks.
