A Few E-Coli Cartoons
Stan Freberg here with a few cartoons on the E-coli scare...you have been ordering your hamburgers well done, haven't you? Be right back. [:60 SPOT BREAK] Following the recall of millions of pounds of hamburger, Jack Ziegler in the New Yorker shows a wife in the kitchen and her husband staring into the freezer. Through the window are seen a couple of guests by the outdoor barbecue. The wife says, "It's only the Ericsons, so why don't you just use the recalled hamburger meat?" John Deering shows a sign: "White Sands Hazardous Waste Disposal," and another sign with two arrows pointing. One says "Plutonium."
The other says, "Ground Beef." And Ohman of the Oregonian shows a group of new burger places. One reads "McFarenheit 160." Others are called "Safety King," "Patty Inferno" and "Bacteria World." A man looking up at the signs says, "The old burger places were more appetizing." Stan Freberg here. Copyright © 1997, Stan Freberg/Freberg, Ltd.
