Byron the Elf:...It's time once again for another visit with

S.L.: Hello, boys and girls. Today we're going to hear the story I call, "The Magic Chicken."

(SFX: Music box)

S.L.: Once upon a time there was a very poor boy, who lived with his father on their small farm. But no matter how hard times became, the boy always saw that all of the farm animals were well taken care of. All the big fat pigs, and all the moo-cows, and all the chick-chicks were fed every day.

And one day while the boy was feeding the animals, a chicken spoke to him. The chicken said, "You are a very kind and good boy, and I can tell you that I am not really a chicken at all, but a beautiful princess. Many years ago a wicked witch put a curse on me, and changed me into a chicken! I can only be changed back by the kiss of one who is pure of heart. You have but to kiss me, and I will be changed into a beautiful princess once more, to love you and marry you, and live with you forever."

And the boy answered, "I'd like that, but we need the eggs."

B: Thank you, Story Lady. Be sure you're listening next time, boys and girls, when The Story Lady will tell us the happy story of "The Frog and the Life Science Class."
