Byron the Elf: And now it's time for another visit with S.L.: Today's story is one I call, "Harold and the Magic Chicken Salad."
(SFX: Music Box)
S.L.: Once upon a time there was a man named Harold, who was very
poor and always extremely tired. One day as he was trudging slowly
through the village, he stopped to rest by an alley. As he paused
trying to catch his breath, he heard a strange voice coming from the
alley.
It said, "I am a plate full of magic chicken salad. Please take
me home with you and put me in your refrigerator; then you can eat me
up and be big and strong and full of energy!"
Well, Harold was flabbergasted! So he gathered up all his
remaining strength, and trudged into the alley, then took the
chicken salad home and ate it.
The next morning, Harold awoke and experienced a new feeling...
nausea. He had been posioned by rancid mayonnaise.
