Byron the Elf:...Now once again, boys and girls, it's time for

S.L.: Today I'm going to tell you the story I call "Johnny Appleseed."
(SFX: Music box)

S.L.: Once upon a time, not so long ago, there was a fellow named Johnny who, for some reason, got it into his head that he should walk across the United States dropping apple seeds on the ground as he went.

He thought that the people of America should have lots of apple trees, so one day he started out in the east, with a huge sack of apple seeds over his shoulder, and began walking west.

As he walked, he dropped the seeds. All along the way people would say, "Hi, Johnny Appleseed!" and he felt very good.

Then, just as he was getting to Pennsylvania, he was picked up by the Jersey State Police, who nailed Johnny with an $11,000 littering fine, plus 2 months in the Newark city jail.

Byron: Thank you, Story Lady. And be sure to tune in next time, boys and girls, when The Story Lady will read the story synopsis from 3 Swedish movies.
