A Weird Japanese Stress Beater

Stan Freberg here. The Japanese have discovered a great way to get rid of stress. Working out at a health club? No - wrecking a room full of antiques! When I come back. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg here. The latest rage for working off rage in Japan is trashing a room full of antiques. Frustrated customers are paying a minimum of a hundred bucks to smash everything in sight.

"Actually, they're not really Ming vases, but they look like it," says Yoshi, owner of a "relief room" in Yamanaka ko, Japan. She says many customers will splinter chairs, smash ceramics, shred drapes, pull down paintings, and stomp on 'em while shreiking at the top of their lungs! "They can be heard berating their bosses, cursing unfaithful mates," says Yoshi, who buys expensive-looking breakables by the carload.

Sounds like good therapy to me. Probably got the idea from those American rock musicians who trash their Tokyo hotel room.
