Cartoon Update: E.coli and Elephant's Memory, among other things

Stan Freberg here with a few cartoons from around America, kidding everything from the E.coli hamburger scare to an elephant's memory. Be right back. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

John Deering of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette shows a voice from inside the Mir space station observing another craft about to hook up. "Oh, great!" he says. "The food supply ship is here!" On the side of the incoming craft, it says, "Hudson Foods." Hmm.

Arnie Levin in the New Yorker shows two elephants. One elephant has a lot of little yellow Post-It notes stuck all over him. He's saying, "As I get older, I find I rely more and more on these little sticky notes to remind me."

And after Ellen DeGeneres's admission on her show that she was gay, Mike Lukovich, the Atlanta Constitution, shows a mother and child in front of TV watching Popeye, who's saying, "I yam what I yam!" The child says, "Is Popeye coming out of the closet, too?"

Hmm. I say let's not open that can of spinach.
