Stan Freberg here. Had enough meat scares? Hmm? Ready for that veggie casserole yet? You will be. Some scary meat stuff, after this. [:60 SPOT BREAK]
Freberg again. Even with 25,000,000 pounds of hamburger patties recalled because of an E.coli scare, some people still don't get it. Newsweek's cover featured a picture of raw hamburger meat, and the headline, "Can Meat Kill?"
I've known for years never to order a hamburger or steak rare or medium, unless you wanna take a chance of the dealy E.coli and other bacteria bonding with you. The U.S.D.A. says the center of the meat should never be red, and still I hear people say, "Mmmmm, rare for me, please!" Are these people nuts?
Each year in the U.S., thousands die from bacteria in food. Many of these deaths are from undercooked meat. Thank you, I'll have the veggie plate, please...extra well-done.
