The Tort Museum

Stan Freberg here. Ralph Nader says he wants to build a museum of famous tort lawsuits, like the woman who sued McDonald's and collected because they served her overly hot coffee. Be right back. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg here. John Leo, in U.S. News, says Ralph Nader's museum honoring tort lawsuits is an idea whose time has come. A tort is a wrongful act for which relief may be obtained in the form of damages.

Leo says the exhibits should include the Hindu plaintiff who bit into a beef burrito at Taco Bell. He sued, claiming he'd ordered a bean burrito, and suffered stress, because beef is forbidden in his religion.

And how about the case brought by the woman who claimed her dog was killed by a neighbor's second-hand smoke? And one couple sued for 10 million for injuries obtained when they were hit by a train while having sex on the tracks!

Sounds like a great museum - I'd pay to see those exhibits!
