Clinton's Confession--Worldwide Reaction

Stan Freberg here with a few worldwide reactions to Bill Clinton's television confession. A Chilean paper has a front-page picture of Bill as "Pinnochio," with a long nose, of course. Be right back. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg here. A French cartoon shows Clinton hugging The Statue of Liberty, his hand on her shoulder, saying "Forgive me." Lady Liberty says, "Take your hand off me."

When an angry Clinton delivered his semi-mea culpa on TV, he drew an audience of 70 million. He admitted what most of us had suspected, that he'd fibbed about the hanky panky. So what else is new? Later, as his lawyer asked "...for closure now," I thought what needed "closure" was Mr. Clinton's zipper!

Meanwhile, I'm glad to see he's gotten back to being truly Presidential. Within 24 hours of his confession, he'd ordered Tomahawk missles against the terrorists behind the bombing of our embassies. Most Americans are with the President all the way on this, and so am I.
