Cartoon Update: Alan Shepard, Heat Waves, and so on...

Stan Freberg here with a few editorial cartoons. In a salute to the late, great astronaut Alan Shepard, John Deering of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette shows the famous flag planted on the moon, flying at half-mast. Nice. Be right back. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg here with a few more cartoons. Following the killer heat wave in Texas, Mike Smith of the Las Vegas Sun shows three men in a row. It reads, "Summer Hearthrobs: Mel Gibson, Bruce Willis, and the Air Conditioning Repairman."

And from the New Yorker, a cartoon which shows the dangers of psychiatry in the computer age. Robert Mancoff shows a patient on the couch. The psychiatrist, who sits alongside the couch making notes on his laptop computer, suddenly says "Whoops! I just deleted all your files! Can you repeat everything you've ever told me?"
