STAN FREBERG HERE...

Stan Freberg FINALLY Presents...The United States of America...VOLUME TWO!!

Stan Freberg here. On July the 4th, Rhino Records is releasing my new album, "Stan Freberg presnts The United States of America, Volume 2: The Middle Years!" More, after this. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg again. A few years back, I recorded a musical satirical album that attempted to make U.S. history less boring, from Columbus to the end of the Revolutionary War. Fortunately, it had "legs," as they say, and my friend, radio icon Dr. Demento, has called it, "Either the greatest comedy album in history, or the greatest history album in comedy."

"Stan Freberg presents The United States of America, Vol. 1" developed a big cult following, and over the years my fans, including history teachers who use it as a teaching aid, keep asking me, "Where is Volume Two?"

Well, I finally recorded the next section of history, and Rhino is releasing it, fittingly, on the 4th of July. There's a boxed set also of Vol. 1 and 2. Joining me are performers like Tyne Daly, John Goodman, David Ogden Steirs, June Foray, Sherman Hemsley and Harry Shearer. Here's how it starts off:

(SFX: Timpani roll)

(Voice Over: Corey Burton) "Stan Freberg modestly presents The United States of America!"

(SFX: Timpani stops)

(V.O.:) "...Volume TWO!"

(SFX: Two beats on timpani)

(V.O.:) "...The Middle Years!"

(Overture starts, then ends abruptly.)

Whoops, I'm out of time! I hope you'll look for it so you can hear the rest of it.

Stan Freberg here.
