Queen Mary: Reaping the Benefits of the "Titanic"

Stan Freberg here. Since all the interest in "Titanic," another great ship that did not sink is now reaping the benefits. Be right back. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg here. The Queen Mary, permanently moored in Long Beach, California, is a hotel now and booked up solid with "Titanic" fans.

My good friend Ray Bradbury, a handful of science fiction cronies and myself, drive down every month or so and have dinner on the ship. As we look out the portholes past the lifeboats, the illusion is that we're at sea, instead of being lashed to the dock.

Frequently, as we tell our stories, our laughter becomes a bit boisterous. Recently, a man approached our table. "Excuse me," he said, as Bradbury and I got ready to sign our autographs. "You're ruining our dinner! Never have I heard such loud, annoying laughter!" I stood up.

"If that's the way you feel," I said, "no lifeboat for you!"
