Stan Freberg here. One of the side effects of the movie "Titanic"'s success is that ocean cruises are up...HUH??? [:60 SPOT BREAK]
"Titanic" not only gave movie theaters a shot in the life boat, major cruise lines report that ocean cruises are up about 40%. What's going on here?
I guess people don't think about the iceberg, but consider "Titanic" just a nice romantic story. A book called "Last Dinner on the Titanic" is selling fast. It offers the recipes of the meals actually served on that fatal night in 1912, from Lobster Thermidor and the 12-course dinner served to the first class passengers, like Kate Winslet--I wonder if they served iceberg lettuce--to the mulligan stew Leonardo DiCaprio ate in steerage before they sank.
Is there anyone left who hasn't seen "Titanic" yet, and hearing this, will say, "The ship sinks? Oh, fine, spoil the ending for me!"
