STAN FREBERG HERE...

The Semi-Good Neighbor (1998 Version)

Stan Freberg here. Is there such a thing as being too good a neighbor? A New Orleans man was arrested after--among other things--collecting his neighbors' mail while they were on vacation, and losing it all, including several large checks! There's more. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg here. My dad always taught me to be a good neighbor, but was Tom Rensfield overdoing it when he dug a garden for his vacationing neighbors, and ruptured a water line? He also destroyed the transmission in their car when he pushed the stalled vehicle with his truck, and forgot to put the car in neutral. Hmm.

Are there more good deeds? Yes. Semi-good neighbor Rensfield accidentally set their house on fire, when he tried to repair a lamp. Yeah, yeah, they guy's starting to get annoying.

"I can't believe how unappreciative they are after all I've done for them," says Rensfield.

That's all from the "good neighbor" desk.
