Cartoon Update: A Few Kaczynski Cartoons

Stan Freberg here with a poltical cartoon update, all on suspected "Unabomber" Ted Kaczynski, who tried to fire his lawyers when they wanted to plead him insane...(Sarcastically) Imagine that. Be right back. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg again. Steve Breen, of the Copely News Service, shows a smiling Ted Kaczynski sitting in court, as his lawyer says to him, "I'm sorry I tried to use the 'insanity defense'. You're not still mad at me, are you?" And a baliff hands something wrapped in brown paper to the lawyer, saying, "This package just arrived for you." Hmm.

And Rogers, of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, shows Kaczynski in court, representing himself. His nameplate says, "Unalawyer." He's pointing to a blow-up of the picture we saw for years of the Unabomber--you know, hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses? Taking a cue from the O.J. trial, he says, "If the hood doesn't fit, you must acquit--and I would never wear an ugly-ass pair of shades like that!"
