Some Interesting New Cookbooks

Stan Freberg here. There's a couple of cookbooks out you may find interesting as "stocking stuffers." The first is the "It's A Wonderful Life" cookbook, and the other has a kind of weird title. When I come back. [:60 SPOT BREAK]

Freberg here. A new cookbook is out called, "Zuzu Bailey's Wonderful Life Cookbook," written by the actress who once played the part of "Zuzu" in the classic Christmas Frank Capra film, "It's A Wonderful Life."

The recipes are for such things as "Zuzu's Ginger Snaps" and "Creamed Capra-corn." Hah...good pun. The book contains many pieces of trivia about the movie as well, and anecdotes from author Karolyn Grimes, who once played "Zuzu," the youngest daughter of "George Bailey," played by Jimmy Stewart. From Birchland Press.

Another holiday cookbook has a strange title, indeed: the "Cooking With Prozac" cookbook, from Eggman Publishing in Nashville, Tennessee. At first, I thought the author, Robin Cohn, was suggesting recipes laced with Prozac. If that were the case, you could enjoy the items cooked, then later they could scrape you down off the ceiling. But no, author Cohn was a law school graduate who overcame clinical depression with Prozac, then rediscovered her passion for cooking.

The book focuses mostly on desserts and soups, since the author doesn't eat meat. She "doesn't eat anything with eyelashes," she says.

Hmm. Doesn't an eggplant have eyelashes?
