Stan Freberg here. How rich is Bill Gates, creator of Microsoft? Well, if his fortune were converted to dollar bills, it would take 296 jumbo jets to fly the pile from Microsoft in Washington to New York, where the loot would cover Manhattan--not just once, but six times! Freberg again. On the internet, there's a "Bill Gates' Net Worth" page, where we discovered that spending 250,000 for a Lamborghini would cost Mr. Gates, in percentage of his wealth, what a 63 cent purchase would set back the average American. Hmm.
And were Bill Gates to spend the same portion of his net as the average household, then going to a movie with his wife would require $10 1/2 million--not counting the babysitter.
And were he to see a hundred dollar bill lying at his feet, he'd actually lose money in the few seconds required to stop and pick it up.
That's enough depressing news for today.
